Annie Nolan: Sign On Twins VIRAL PHOTO

Going viral.

Annie Nolan, a blogger who is married to AFL player Liam Picken, has posted this photo on social media, with the caption below, and it has been shared over 20,000 times from her page.

I REALLY wanted to leave these signs on the pram today. As a twin mum, you get asked a series of questions/hear a series of statements EVERYTIME you go out. I know most people are coming from a great place and are just curious however many can be quite intrusive and after a while it's just plain exhausting. And since I was heading into the city, I knew the questions would be coming thick and fast... but I chickened out on the train and took them off!
P.S- it is a joke people ðŸ˜œ

Since her post has gone viral, she has posted this:

Delphi and Cheska leaving the house for the first time since their 15mins of facebook fame ‪#‎delphiandcheska‬ ‪#‎twins‬

And more recently, Annie posted this:

You know that feeling when a little in-joke between friends turns international? Yeah, nah? Well that is what I am feeling at the moment! Hahahaha. Liam leaves me for 4 days and his kids end up in the British News. Whoops!
PS- the headline is tad exaggerated probably to encourage people to click on it. I'm not fed up at all! It was a joke gone a little mad. My twins are MY FAVOURITE TOPIC to talk about!
PPS- The trolls and haters are way more fierce than footy crazies! Haha. Love it ðŸ˜œ
PPPS- Hi lovely English men and women! Thanks for your support. My best friend was born there and her family are from there (Manchester) so thank you for providing me with such a beautiful soul. Lots of love to you all xx

Me? As a twin mum, for a LONG while after I gave birth to my twins I was asked if twins run in my family, which I honestly think that sometimes it was just an alternate way of people asking: did you use IVF? I can hereby publicly acknowledge that no… I did not use IVF. Yes I had sex with my husband to create my twins. See? What does it matter anyway! And ewww, too much information for you, isn't it? Yes, I agree.

Also, when people immediately assume I delivered them via a c-section, I obviously feel the need to clarify: no, it was not a cesarean, yes it was a vaginal birth, yes I was given an epidural, yes I am a champion, and yes, so are all the women who gave birth via c-section. So there. (I DO love the reactions of women when I tell them I pushed two out, though; they are genuinely encouraging and impressed… and yes, I felt like I could conquer the world afterwards).

Did I mind all the questions about my twins themselves? NO, I loved it. I loved telling anyone - friends, colleagues, the checkout assistant, the taxi driver - that I was having twins, and after their birth, I was so proud to talk about them to anyone who would listen. Did I get tired of it? Not really. And no, my twins CAN'T be identical because… they are a boy and a girl.

Do I understand Annie's post? Yes, I do. Because guess what? It's HER experience and hers alone. She adds some humour to it, and is really not hurting anyone. Let's not make it about us, about infertility, about anything other than what was a private post (what's private on social media though? Nothing!) which has now gone viral.

Best kept secret ever? 'Surprise' twins: VIDEO

I love this! It's about Sharon and Korey Rademacher and their newborn twins.

And it's going viral now. Watch:

Did you keep a secret about your pregnancy?

We did! We decided to not find out the genders of our twins. We had a boy and girl, and we only discovered this when they were born. SUCH a feeling of euphoria. I highly recommend not finding out. Don't worry if people tell you that you have to find out… you don't! You only need some white clothes and they'll likely be in bassinets next to your bed, right? Nothing blue or pink required there!

When we first found out we were having twins, my husband proposed the idea: "Let's not tell anyone!"

I told him it would be an impossible secret to keep. I was bigger than what I would have been at that stage of pregnancy and I got quite humungous - it would never have worked. The genders - not knowing ourselves… BEST SURPRISE EVER!

For this couple, above, they found out they were having twins in August, but what they did next was a little different.
"As soon as my wife and I picked our jaws up off the floor, the doctor walked out. Within a minute of the doctor walking out, my wife said 'Let's not tell anyone,'" Korey Rademacher told ABC News. "Literally, I was thinking the same thing."
The twins, named Maryann Grace and Brianna Faith, join their big brother.

Tvillinger og leggetid! / Twins bedtime

'Twins bedtime': the viral video with over 1.8 million hits.

Says the video creator Henriette Jonassen:

"I made a little blog for this video; http://twinswins.wordpress.com/

I've been struggeling with getting my twins asleep for a few weeks now (due to extremely hot weather and long, sunny days), and I've tried different methods. This one was definitely the worst one! But it gave me a good laugh tho.

And BTW: they have always shared room, I just thought I'd try something different for a few days, and it turned out to be a bad idea."

Watch the video below:

Can you relate? Are you a twinnie mum (or dad) and are going through this now?

My husband and I have LOADS of experience putting our twins to bed. We run a bloody tight ship and it's the thing we pride ourselves on the most - a united front when it comes to bedtime. And a no nonsense approach. Everyone sleeps in their own bed and nobody gets up during the night. Thank GOD. That sleep deprivation in the first eight or so months was sending me mental. I can relate to Henriette's frustration though - things can go pear-shaped super quick if you don't have a steely resolve with these mini people!

David Campbell's Wife Lisa Pregnant with Twins

In fantastic celeb baby news just in David Campbell, co-host of Channel Nine's TV show 'Mornings' has just announced he and his wife Lisa are expecting twins!

Here is how he announced it… a very clever reference to the Arnold Schwarzenegger/Danny De Vito movie 'Twins', alongside their young son Leo, with the caption: "Look what we are expecting!"

Diarrhea = daycare day off?

So, this post is not so much about twins - well, it is in my case - but it is certainly about siblings.

Yesterday my twins were at daycare, and throughout the day, Estella did two diarrheas.

I know, gross. TMI.

But, it's completely relevant to my story.

So, the daycare called me at 5pm and advised me she'd just done her second liquid poop [vom] and Estella would not be allowed to attend daycare the next day. Oh, and I still pay for her day's stay there.

Now, I have had an issue with this before. Up until recently I had no idea that a diarrhea, a vomit, or a fever one day meant that the child was banned from daycare the next day.

So, if you get a call from the daycare saying your child has a 38.2 fever today, you leave work, look after them (fair call), then if they get better that evening, you still need to quarantine them and take another day off work.

This does not sit right with me.

In my case, it means taking one twin to daycare as per usual and taking the other one home. And taking a day off work.

If you're a childcare worker please feel free to put me in my place.

I get the 'stop the spread of germs' things... but what if the child is no longer ill?

I was spewing - pardon jargon-esque pun - because today was 'bandanna day' at daycare and Estella has missed out. And there is nothing wrong with her. She hasn't done a soft poop since yesterday.

So, what's your take?

Is the childcare centre being too hardline in their approach? Should I just 'suck it up' and understand it all comes with the territory of being a parent?

Have you been torn between twins/siblings on sick days?

Twins - and why I started this blog

Oh, hi!

Hey, how are you?

If you're reading this it means you have twins.

Or, you're my friend and you know I have twins, and are curious to read about my misadventures (and have a sneaky giggle while muttering, "Phew, glad that's not me!").

Or, you've stumbled across me on Google and are wondering: "Well, what made you the authority on twins?"

Simple.

I have 'em.

As [what the husb and I like to refer to as] "our first two and last two children" it has been quite the ride over the past three - almost four years.

Well, four years plus, really - because the fun starts as soon as you know you've got not one but two human beings cooking away in that [you-wait-and-see-how-big-you-get] belly.

This blog is for ALL of you.

Contribute, laugh at my expense, share your stories.

Most of all, remember. It's the twinnies' world. We just live in it. You will see.
