'Annie' DVD Giveaway

Did you see 'Annie' at the movies?

We did and we loved it so much - and now it's time to enjoy it all over again on DVD! And - you can win one of two copies here!

Academy Award nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (the cute-as and very talented actress from 'Beasts of the Southern Wild') stars as Annie, a young, happy foster kid who’s also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in 2014.

Originally left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they’d be back for her someday, it’s been a hard-knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz).

But everything’s about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) - advised by his brilliant VP, Grace (Rose Byrne - I love her in everything!) and his shrewd and scheming campaign advisor, Guy (Bobby Cannavale - Rose's real life boyfriend) - makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in.

Stacks believes he’s her guardian angel, but Annie’s self-assured nature and bright, sun-will-come-out-tomorrow outlook on life just might mean it’s the other way around.

This new twist on the classic Broadway musical features three all new songs woven seamlessly into the score, which has also been re-imagined and updated for modern times by Australian superstar Sia, and Greg Kurstin.

Kate Murray: Breast Cancer New Mother PHOTOS

These photos by photographer Kate Murray have blown me away.

Spotted on social media last night, they have quickly gone viral.

The post, by Kate herself, are captioned:

This is the definition of strength, love, and pure raw beauty. Mom was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer halfway through pregnancy with her surprise gender baby. She had one breast removed and underwent chemo while carrying her miracle baby. She was induced at 36 weeks in order to receive more treatment. Baby BOY was born ready to prove to the world his strength he inherited from his strong mommy. He latched on to her remaining breast all on his own and the room erupted in so many emotions. Breastfeeding is such a sacred bond, and this one just makes my heart break and swell at the same time. I am beyond blessed to have met and gotten to know this woman and her family, and so honored she asked me to be there to document these precious moments. Please share, and continue to pray for this family as they go into their next journey together!

Possibly the most moving newborn photos I have ever seen.

Instagram Breastfeeding and Nude Photos: Policy Change

With parents and celebrity mums and dads often complaining that their social media photos featuring breastfeeding and ample skin and nudity are taken down by the social media platform Instagram, Instagram themselves have just released new guidelines pertaining to these very photos.

The NEW guidelines below, but first, some celebs who have been breastfeeding and posting  on social media for eons:

Community Guidelines

The Short

We want Instagram to continue to be an authentic and safe place for inspiration and expression. Help us foster this community. Post only your own photos and videos and always follow the law. Respect everyone on Instagram, don’t spam people or post nudity.
The Long
Instagram is a reflection of our diverse community of cultures, ages, and beliefs. We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the different points of view that create a safe and open environment for everyone.
We created the Community Guidelines so you can help us foster and protect this amazing community. By using Instagram, you agree to these guidelines and our Terms of Use. We’re committed to these guidelines and we hope you are too. Overstepping these boundaries may result in a disabled account.

  • Post photos and videos that are appropriate for a diverse audience.

We know that there are times when people might want to share nude images that are artistic or creative in nature, but for a variety of reasons, we don’t allow nudity on Instagram. This includes photos, videos, and some digitally-created content that show sexual intercourse, genitals, and close-ups of fully-nude buttocks. It also includes some photos of female nipples, but photos of post-mastectomy scarring and women actively breastfeeding are allowed. Nudity in photos of paintings and sculptures is OK, too.
People like to share photos or videos of their children. For safety reasons, there are times when we may remove images that show nude or partially-nude children. Even when this content is shared with good intentions, it could be used by others in unanticipated ways. You can learn more on our Tips for Parents page.

Before the update, Instagram's community guidelines were a little vague and only used language like "keep your clothes on" and be "respectful."

The old guidelines are still viewable through an archive page - they didn't mention breastfeeding. These new rules are more precise. While Instagram did not mention why it changed its guidelines, the social network has recently gone under fire for banning accounts of mothers who post stretch marks (yes!) or somewhat expose their breasts in a breastfeeding photo.

And more celeb breastfeeding photos they've popped up on social media:

Sunrise host Monique Wright pregnant with third child

TV host - from 'The Daily Edition' and 'Sunrise' is - Monique Wright is pregnant with her third says this pregnancy was a surprise, in a report by Jonathan Moran in 'The Sunday Telegraph'.

In the report, Monique says her news should give hope to other women trying to conceive in their forties. “I do hope that this serves as a bit of hope that it can happen,” she said of the struggle many women face in falling pregnant later.
“It can happen by chance. It is not all doom and gloom. Even though, yes, we understand the statistics, they’re not everything. If anyone is trying, maybe they can take some hope from this.”

Best kept secret ever? 'Surprise' twins: VIDEO

I love this! It's about Sharon and Korey Rademacher and their newborn twins.

And it's going viral now. Watch:

Did you keep a secret about your pregnancy?

We did! We decided to not find out the genders of our twins. We had a boy and girl, and we only discovered this when they were born. SUCH a feeling of euphoria. I highly recommend not finding out. Don't worry if people tell you that you have to find out… you don't! You only need some white clothes and they'll likely be in bassinets next to your bed, right? Nothing blue or pink required there!

When we first found out we were having twins, my husband proposed the idea: "Let's not tell anyone!"

I told him it would be an impossible secret to keep. I was bigger than what I would have been at that stage of pregnancy and I got quite humungous - it would never have worked. The genders - not knowing ourselves… BEST SURPRISE EVER!

For this couple, above, they found out they were having twins in August, but what they did next was a little different.
"As soon as my wife and I picked our jaws up off the floor, the doctor walked out. Within a minute of the doctor walking out, my wife said 'Let's not tell anyone,'" Korey Rademacher told ABC News. "Literally, I was thinking the same thing."
The twins, named Maryann Grace and Brianna Faith, join their big brother.

Anonymous Facebook letter about baby photos

Any letter that starts off with "I have got together with a few of the girls…" reeks of bully high school behaviour. Which isn't even acceptable in high school.

This mother shared this letter with Em Rusciano

Em felt compelled to share it on social media - and write a piece on it. You can read that whole piece here. But first, the letter - can you even believe this tripe? De-friend for good, girl. And never speak to them in real life, either!
