'The Jungle Book': DVD GIVEAWAY

The Disney classic 'The Jungle Book' is now available on Blu-ray and DVD from now... TwinnieWorld readers have the chance to win one of FIVE copies, thanks to Mango and Disney.

'The Jungle Book' is a timeless classic - an adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic novel - from the golden age of Disney animation, and it follows the journey of Mowgli, a baby ‘man cub’ who is abandoned and discovered in the depths of the jungle. When the terrifying tiger Shere Khan sets out to capture some fresh prey, Mowgli is banished to a human tribe for safety, but he won't give up his jungle life without a fight!

With his chilled 'sloth' bear buddy Baloo, Mowgli outsmarts the wicked python Kaa and makes friends with all sorts of jungle creatures, and has fun along the way. He must, though, decide if he really belong in the wild?

This is actually the last film to be produced by the late, great Walt Disney. Here is the trailer for this fresh new 2013 version:

And here is a trailer for the DVD - just magical!

A little more about the movie:

'The Little Mermaid' is available in standard and 3D formats (the standard DVD will be the version you could win here), and features the beloved Ariel (voice of Jodi Benson), a fun and cheeky mermaid, who is enchanted with all things human.

Ignoring her father’s instruction to stay away from the world above the sea, Ariel swims to the surface and, in an awful storm, she rescues the prince of her dreams. Now determined to be human, Ariel makes a pact with the evil seawitch Ursula (voice of Pat Carroll), trading her fins and beautiful voice for legs.

With her best friend Flounder (voice of Jason Marin), seagull Scuttle (voice of Buddy Hackett) and the fun-loving Sebastian (voice of Samuel E. Wright) supporting her side, Ariel must win the prince’s love and save her father’s kingdom – all (of course!) in a race against time.

This classic movie was originally released in 1989, and at time 'The Little Mermaid' garnered two Academy Awards, including Best Original Score, and Best Original Song.

Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, who went on to direct 'Aladdin' and 'The Princess and the Frog,' 'The Little Mermaid” will continue to entrall young audiences in years to come.

Mambo at Big W Spring/Summer 2013/14 Collection + Reader Giveaway

Have you seen the new Mambo Spring/Summer 2013/14 collection at Big W?

It's impressively high quality, ultra stylish, bright and colourful, and (my favourite part) completely affordable.

I won't lie - I don't spend a lot on my kids' clothes. You know, it's that whole argument: "But they grow out of them SO quickly!" They do! And that's one of the reasons I always think 'budget' for my five year old twins' threads. That doesn't mean I forgo styling them up and wanting them to look super cute.

When I came across Mambo - sold at my fave chain store Big W - I was completely impressed with everything about it (you can spot a cool Mambo design at 20 paces), and have been dressing my kids in Mambo all winter. And now, in the spring/summer 2013/14 new collection.

It's all SO darn cute! AND now: TwinnieWorld readers have the chance to win some fab pieces from the new collection! Twelve readers (six packs are for boys, six packs are for girls) can snap up a collection of Mambo clothes for their little ones. Read on for more.

First, more about the iconic Australian brand.

Mambo is an Australian company established in 1984 and is owned by The Nervous Investor Group, a collective of creative and surfing entrepreneurs. Surf, art, music and humour are the four pillars upon which iconic Australian brand Mambo was built. Founded in 1984, Mambo quickly became an iconic surf brand with its distinctive satirical designs created by a diverse collection of wildly talented artists such as Reg Mombassa, Maria Kozic, Robert Williams and Ben Noble.

Representing Mambo is an enviable line up of ambassadors from pro surfer Luke Cheadle, Rugby League superstar Benji Marshall and hot Aussie actor, Ryan Kwanten, to the glamorous ‘Mambo Goddesses’ Erin McNaught and Cheyenne Tozzi (with another new face soon to be announced). Mambo has hosted major international music festivals, surfing events and has had its unique art exhibited in museums around the world.

Mambo develops young artistic talent, produces innovative products, artworks and quality clothing. In 2000, due to demand from the athletes, Mambo designed the Australian team uniforms for the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games. There have been several books written on Mambo, as well as a lead business TIME magazine article, and just last year, esteemed UK publication, Cult Street Wear, listed Mambo as one of the world’s most influential apparel brands of the past 30 years alongside Nike, Adidas and A Bathing Ape.

Mambo continues to solidify its place on the international fashion stage as the quintessential surf and skate brand with an ever growing list of global stockists in Australia, North America, South America, Europe and Asia. For more information go to www.mambo.com.au

Tracey Annan - Mum of the Year 2013: Australian Mother & Baby Magazine Awards

The Mum of the Year was announced on Tuesday September 25, 2013, at the second annual Australian Mother & Baby Magazine Awards.

Industry professionals, media, bloggers and award contenders gathered for a high tea at Deckhouse, Woolwich to celebrate this year’s best and most innovative products for mum and baby. The Mum of the Year Award recognises the outstanding determination, love and strength of special mothers who’ve experienced great hardship, grief or exceptional circumstances.

The deserving winner of a year’s worth of groceries from Coles and the title of Mum of the Year was 41 year old Tracey Annan of Mt Warrigal, NSW.

Tracey is mother to Jaimi Lee, 14, Nathaniel, 11, and Wilson, 9. Tracey’s son, Nathaniel was born prematurely at 24 weeks. He faced many medical complications early on in life and was also diagnosed with autism. After a long battle with mental illness, Tracey’s husband, Mark, took his own life, leaving her to raise the family alone.

Tracey has since turned her life around, enrolling in a double-degree university course and is working three part-time jobs to provide for her family. She also dedicates her time to volunteer for multiple organisations, including the local primary school and the Watershed Drug and Alcohol Recovery and Education Centre.

“After Mark’s death, I was frightened and unsure how I would raise three children on my own - and care for one who had special needs. I knew I had to be strong and carry on for my children. It would have been easy for me to drift along aimlessly but my kids were my inspiration. I spend every spare minute outside of work and study with them. I hope I can inspire others to use their hardships as motivation to help them achieve their dreams. More importantly, I hope to set a good example for my children, with a bit of hard work and determination anything is possible.”
Tracey has been awarded with a year’s supply of groceries from Coles to the value of $10,400. As a single Mum of three children, who works three jobs, studies and volunteers, Tracey is a deserving winner. The year’s supply of groceries is sure to relieve a lot of financial pressure, allowing Tracey more freedom and time to spend with her family.

“Being a good mum is about loving and being with your kids. Mums can be tough and not only survive, but survive well!”

What an utterly incredible and inspiring woman Tracey is. Huge congratulations to you, Tracey. You are the definition of resilient, and have proven you can turn your life around in the face of adversity.

Will Ferrell And His Kids: Emmys 2013

Yep.

We hear you Will Ferrell.

Who hasn't been stuck with a sudden work opp... but no babysitter?

Here is what Will did at the 2013 Emmys.

Watch the brilliance (Angry Birds, sharing an iPad, going to the toilet...):

And yes, these are Will's real kids: Magnus, 9, Mattias, 6, and Axel, 3.

Will's intro... fantastic.

"Unfortunately Helen Mirren and Maggie Smith dropped out at the last second and they called me literally 45 minutes ago and I couldn't find child care, okay?" Will told the audience. "We had a soccer game, there was a neighbour's birthday party, a nut allergy, I didn't have time to do my hair. It doesn't matter, it's great to be here", he added, deadpan.
